I'm Dawn Shim, a cinematographer based in Los Angeles. I shoot stories that move — aviation, adventure, and the outdoors — alongside narrative and commercial work.

I'm also a commercial pilot and flight instructor, a sailor, and a scuba diver. The outdoors isn't just where I work; it's how I see.

I thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy problem-solving on set, and love bringing cinematic visions to life.

I completed the cinematography master's program at the American Film Institute in 2014.
